Although the comments received are much less than what I expected, I am glad and thankful for the comments received so far. They are very encouraging. I hope that people realize that the by-products of such an event are tremendous. We must think of developing an infra-structure so that the visiting people will have a comfortable stay . If we can build an indoor sports hall and two dormitories (one for girls and one for boys), we can use them for conducting holiday camps for our kids and at the same time can rent it out for students from various parts of the country. As there are not many facilities like this elsewhere, there will be a big demand. With so many people coming and staying in VVT will certainly help economically. We can develop a pleasure Boat service, it will boost up the restaurant industry and our shops will have more sales.
I talked to some youngsters visiting from other countries and they are thrilled. I am sure this regular event will help the local youngsters as well as those from other countries. Of course there will be some teething problems , but if we put an effort WE CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN

Appapa,
Sounds like a great opportunity for the youth around the world to connect better with VVT and also with each other. Hopefully the response to this proposal is positive and we can make it happen in the near future!

Dear Anna,
It’s a very good start and gives the villagers a better understanding. I feel most of the young expatriates waiting for this kind of change in the lifestyle of the village. Even though expatriates know and understand the better lifestyle, they are reluctant to bring good things there. The government database shows that expatriate Tamils are investing in Colombo only (not in Jaffna due to lack of education and industrial skills, of course, for other reasons as well).
A change needed especially among the elders. If they welcome an adult education system, learning small industries, leading the young generation, understanding of the outside world, enthusiasm of competing with the outside world then, more youngsters may visit them.
The villagers have energy and are advancing. If they can speed up education, skills and small industries, they can catch up with the surrounding villages and the rest of the world.
Anna, good luck with your efforts and I hope the annual event become regular events. I request each and every expatriate to join him to improve the village not only in kovil thiruvila but in every aspect.

Dear Saba Raveendran Uncle,
Very nice to see these kinds of an energetic idea to improve our VVT development other than depending on the government sector. I am fully supportive of your initiative. Advising to consider higher education and medical support to VVT related needy students.
Thanks & Kind regards,
T. Sivakumarasamy
