Valvettithurai based Piragal Thirugnanasuntharam has been nominated to run in the riding of Scarborough-Rouge River. A 37-year-old municipal policy planner is the new Liberal candidate for the Scarborough-Rouge River provincial by election, emerging victorious on the first ballot from a field of six candidates.
Piragal, born in Valvettithurai, Srilanka, has a master’s degree from York University in public policy, administration and law. He works for the York Region government.
Canadian Premier Kathleen Wynne has six months to call the by-election but has not yet chosen a date.
It may be noted that Rathika Sitsabesan had contested in this area in the last by-election.
Piragal Thiru is nephew to Valvettithurai based Justice of Piece Mr.P.Akamanithevar, who is also president of leading Ganapathy Pre-school of Valvettithurai, Srilanka.
