Mr. R. S. Sivasubramaniam (SLAS, JP), retired export and import controller, passed away on 13th July 13 at the age of 83.The Bachelor, largely known as R.S, had been battling acute diseases for last two months and died finally to a Heart attack.
Born in Valvettithurai on April 8th 1930, the late Mr. R. S. Sivasubramaniam had studied at the Valvai Chithambara College. Having completed his higher studies in various places, Mr. R. S. Sivasupramaniyam had served with government in various fields in high ranks, including as a secretary to the ministry of health and as an Export and import controller, till his retirement.
Throughout his lengthy profession and life, he was largely known as having helped many people, especially who had needed assistance in the Government sectors.
In addition to above, Mr. R. S. Sivasupramaniam had headed Old boys association, (Colombo branch) of Valvettithurai Chithambara College and he has held his presidential position till his death.
Appreciating his service, the good people of Valvettithurai has honored him last year 11th of November, at Valvettithurai.
