Annual Tamil Art and Cultural event of Moratuwa University 'Tamil literary Association' held yesterday, on 07-07-13 at Ramakrisnamission Hall, Wellawatta of Colombo. The events had commenced at 1530 hours.
The events was headed by Mr. Selvakumar, head of the department of Transport and logistics department of the University of Moratuwa, where the Chief guest was Lawer Kandiah Neelakandan, President of all Ceylon Hindu Congress.
Having commenced with lighting of traditional oil lamp, Silent Prayer and Thamizh mushy vazhthu, the event had continued to Speeches, Dances, Musical program, Dance drama (Kannaki), Debate, Social Play and Poetry form etc.
The Jaffna Hindu College was awarded of Sotrkanai (an award named by remembering the famous writer late Mr. Sokkan) for winning vivatha Samar (Battle of argument in Tamil).
Large number of crowds were present to watch the events, which lasted till 2230 hours.
